The Mackintosh Tearooms

The Mackintosh Tearooms reopened in 2018 after four years of extensive conservation work funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Now cared for by the National Trust for Scotland, the 200-seat main tearoom serves lunches and afternoons teas in some of the most beautiful interiors in Glasgow, including the Front Saloon, Back Saloon, and Gallery. If you require a more private or corporate experience, a modern Boardroom and AV Theatre are now available to hire alongside the historic Billiard room.

Expert guides deliver tours of the building seven days a week, allowing you to explore the many floors of the iconic Mackintosh Tearooms and discover the history of this remarkable building while admiring its beautifully restored interiors. Your tour includes access to exclusive spaces such as the Billiard Room and the opulent Salon de Luxe. There is also an interactive exhibition telling the story of local entrepreneur Miss Kate Cranston and her unique collaboration with Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his wife Margaret Macdonald.

This integral part of Glasgow’s history is a must see for any food lover or architecture fan looking for the ultimate Charles Rennie Mackintosh experience.
