Glasgow Convention Bureau has been voted Best UK Convention Bureau for the 20th consecutive year at the M&IT Awards.  

The award marks an unprecedented milestone that underlines two decades of sustained leadership in the UK's events industry. The city also had further cause for celebration as the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) secured the award for Best UK Conference Centre, highlighting the strength and depth of Glasgow's conference and events offer. 

The awards, voted for by conference industry professionals, recognise excellence across the events sector and reinforce Glasgow's position as one of the UK and Europe’s leading destinations for conferences, meetings and events. 

The Convention Bureau's 20-year success underlines the city's sustained reputation for delivering world-class support to conference organisers and delegates. The recognition comes as Glasgow continues to attract major national and international events that generate significant economic impact, bringing thousands of delegates to the city and contributing hundreds of millions to the local economy annually. 

In the 2025-2026 financial year alone, Glasgow hosted 530 conferences, with 165,000 delegates in attendance, which generated £207 million in economic benefit. The effect can be felt across the city’s visitor economy, from hotels and venues to restaurants, transport providers and cultural attractions. 

The city's success was further recognised with the SEC being named Best UK Conference Centre. The award comes shortly after the SEC unveiled plans to invest in and expand its campus, reinforcing its ambition to attract even more major conferences and events to Glasgow and strengthening the city's position as a leading events destination.
