Glasgow rock legends Simple Minds are set to bring their musical force to the Hydro for a spectacular finale to Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. The iconic band, with a career that spans nearly five decades, will headline the Closing Ceremony on 2 August, bringing down the curtain on 11 days of electric sporting competition in the city. Today, Glasgow 2026 has released tickets for the big farewell party.

The Closing Ceremony will feature a show-stopping line-up of performances and Simple Minds will be joined by Scotlands’ own Cammy Barnes, BEMZ and Sandi Thom who will perform odes to Scotland at special moments in their own distinctive style.

The curtain call will also be played out by multi-award-winning Highland band and one of Scotland’s most exciting contemporary folk/electronic acts Elephant Sessions, while Shereen Cutkelvin will mark the ceremonial flag handover.

Connecting Glasgow to the Commonwealth in an international celebration that welcomes India as the next host of the Commonwealth Games, Shankar Mahadevan, who is known as one of Bollywood’s greatest vocalists and actress and film star Rashmika Mandanna will take to the stage. While one of Australia’s most accomplished artists Delta Goodrem returns to a Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony 20 years after taking to the stage at Melbourne 2006, performing a special homage to Scotland.

The Closing Ceremony is set to highlight the people who made the Games possible, the pride of the host city and the iconic sporting triumphs that unfolded as 3,000 athletes competed in 10 sports and six Para sports.

The final moment of the UK’s biggest sporting event this year will feature performances by community groups and cultural organisations and will be full of energy, passion and party.

With surprise and delight moments throughout, the full creative is a tightly kept secret and tickets are expected to be in high demand. Fans are invited to grab a seat to witness the magic as tickets are released on 21 July.

There are three ticket price categories for the Closing Ceremony meaning fans can be at the last night of the Games for under £100 – Cat C: £50, Cat B: £75, Cat A: £95.
